Recently one sentence greatly impacted Ben and I.... " God never calls you to do what you CAN do, He calls you to do what you CAN'T do". It's true. If God called me to do what would be easy, convenient, comfortable... then I wouldn't need Him. I'd have no need to pray, to seek wisdom, or to have faith in His promise of provision.
God uses us when we are willing to step out of our comfort zone. Throughout the Bible God calls men and women out of comfortable circumstances to do something that they "couldn't do".... Noah builds an ark when it's never rained before. Joshua marches around a wall waiting for it to fall. David a shepherd becomes king of Israel. Ruth sacrifices her own desires for someone else's well being. Mary faces humiliation as an "unwed" mother. The disciples leave their livelihood to follow Christ.
And this is where we are. Praying we make the right decisions about our future, but ready to be uncomfortable, scared, reluctant, and even sad. Because God is bigger than all of that!
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot loose. -Jim Elliot
